bangs and the artistic creations of my mind...

well, here you go; this is what i look like with my bangs. i'm liking them for now. like i said, i just wanted something different. :)

i really liked some stationary that my mom bought and so i decided to make my own interpretation of it on the top of a shoebox. so, there you go
i painted this giraffe a couple of weeks ago with justin; he painted a pair of pretty cute penguins
and this one is my latest project. i'm not finished with it yet, but so far i'm really liking it. i was going off of a comic book drawing, so that is why the colors, lines and shadows are so vivid. i know, it's kind of morbid, but at the same time i really really like it. haha
as far as life goes, it's been a pretty easy week. i had a track meet today, in which i again jumped horribly. i did 4'6" this time instead of 4'4", but i was still really disappointed. oh, well. just gotta keep trying.
oh, and i'm going back to Park City, Utah tomorrow to go skiing. my parents decided and planned this trip on tuesday night. no, we are not last minute people at all haha. but hey, i'm not complaining...i get to go skiing, so i'm pretty happy. we are leaving around 11:30 am tomorrow and will be back sunday, so i'm sure i'll have some things to post about.
until then... :)

short recap of the weekend

it was a rather good weekend, if i do say so myself. i'll just to a brief recap.
there was no school friday, so friday morning i went to get a hair cut and decided to change it up a little and see how i looked with bangs. :) very different (which is what i wanted), but i am liking them so far. i'll post a picture up soon.
friday afternoon august, amy and i went shopping at southcoast plaza for jsb dresses. unfortunately i didn't have much luck, but they each got a dress, so at least the trip wasn't wasted.
saturday, i played some intense tennis with scott. i was playing amazing! i was up 3-1 in our set with 40-love lead, my serve, and then lost it. somehow i lost that game, he held his serve and then score was back to neck and neck, ending with me losing in tie break!!! ah! i HATE tie breaks!!! oh, well, it just felt so good to get out there and hit like that again. especially since i haven't been high jumping well at all lately. well, just gotta keep trying
today was pretty relaxing...nothing special.
well, i'll put up a picture soon so that those of you who haven't seen my hair, can see it.

have a good monday, everyone! :)

my week

sorry for the lacking updates. life is busy, busy, busy, but when isn't it, i guess. the week really did fly by. wednesday i went to the Long Beach Rescue Mission, which was great! their response to the video went really well, so we were all very thankful for that, since the video had some parts we weren't sure they would agree with. to let you know what it was about, it was basically about this guy that seems like a pretty good guy (nice family man and such) and he gets into a car crash and ends up on a train called "the limited", where he is going to see the judge. the lady sitting next to him on the train is kind of the type of person that i think other people tend to ignore, simply because of the way they appear. anyway, she begins talking to him about her life and such, but he couldn't care less and is just concerned for his own well being. she also hints at certain things, by saying she is cold and hungry, as he has both a jacket and some food with him. when the train stops he runs off the train and follows the signs to the judge without so much as a backwards glance at the lady. when he gets to the place where the judge is supposed to be, he looks up and the lady from the train is standing there and it ends.
it was pretty deep and definitely brought up some interesting points.
yesterday, i drove up to whittier to watch justin's tennis match. i think it's so fun to watch him play...it's amazing how hard they can smack that ball! inspiring! haha. after he was done with his match, i had to wait for him to take a shower, so i hung out in his dorm room and then we left for my house. we ended up getting home around 8:15 and still hadn't had dinner yet, so we decided to cook again. we were going to make chicken enchiladas, but then discovered that we only had 3 tortillas, so we made it into a casserole. we also improvised (what we do best) on almost half of the ingredients, like we didn't have enough sour cream, so we threw in some cream cheese and yogurt. and we used a jar of salsa instead of green chilies. our casserole turned out AMAZING! i think it was even better than our beef and broccoli.

other than that, nothing much has been happening...just track and school. i would like to vent about a certain yearbook teacher, but won't subject you all to that. lets just say allison and i had to come in this morning on our saturday to get some things done and you can imagine how happy that alone would make us with her.

well, better start an english paper, so then justin and i can go have a painting party...yeah we paint and cook for fun. :)
later alligators!

"High on a Hill with a lonley goat herd..." (Oaks Invitational)

satuday was our first track meet, which was up at Oaks Christian (in Thousand Oaks); nice and far. anyway, we had to be at school at 6:00am and returned around 8:00 -8:30 pm...loooooong day! it was actually more fun than i thought it was going to be though. i ended up running in the 4x100 relay, which i had never done before. i don't know how good i was at it, but i do know that we didn't come in last and i didn't get DQed. and i actually had a lot of fun doing it. it was such an adrenaline rush. high jump didn't go so well and i was really disappointed with myself, but what can ya do? not much when it's over. just try again next time.
after my events were over, i spent the remainder of the day taking pictures, eating and obsessing over will smith. many good conversations were had, including allison asking me if she had a "farm arm", me forgetting what i was going to tell her about a sign that we passed on the freeway about 10 seconds after we passed it (i know it was something about mattresses...), and pretty much everything mr. becksvoort said. he is hilarious!
well, enjoy all the millions of pictures we took to amuse ourselves all day in the hot sun. oh, and by the way, i go so sun burnt! and i put on sun screen 3 times! oh well

we were so bored...we decided to start creepin' around people with cameras and taking their picture candid with us in the back round. it more entertaining than you would think

we tried to get mr. becksvoort, but he was on to us immediately. so, he took the camera to see why we thought it was so fun and this is his candid camera creepy photo. haha! best ever! you can see allison and i in the background, looking quite pale

then mr. bex wanted to take a picture with us...what an awkward angle haha
awww, yay! :)

then i believe we begain suffering from heat stroke and things got crazy...

i'd say this is my "will smith is here" face. will smith was there watching his son. i convinced allison to go with me to find him and then when i saw him standing at the gate i seriously went into hysterics. you don't even understand...i am like obsessed with "the fresh prince of bel air" episodes! i started jumping up and down, calmed down and then went to go stand next to him by the fence. he spoke to me!!! he said something about high jump, since the boys high jump was going on. he wasn't giving out autographs or taking pictures, but he seemed like a really cool guy. i was estatic :D
face off of the century while i watch in the background?

behold, the canvas tent that provides us with protection from the blazing sun
attempt at blue steel???
wow...the one normal picture allison and i take, kamille is stuffing her face with a sandwich...figures

i'm so scared! allison is going to kiss me?
she says i look longing??? i think not!

aw, my face is in her shoulder...weird. i did fall asleep on her shoulder on the bus ride back though. actually i guess, allison watched as i slowly kept falling over getting closer to her and then was wondering if i was going to wake up every time we hit a bump and she nailed me in the face with her shoulder. haha i didn't though until she moved to answer her phone
strange...my face is burrowing into her cheek as kamille is staring at me intently

cute...should i feel uncomfortable that al pal happens to be examining my cheek?

uh?puffer fish to the extreme!

so attractive. people wish they could be us

i thought we were being normal...what a silly thing to assume
to infinity and beyond! as i take out kamille on the way up...
eww...
probably one of the best faces i've ever made! haha

and a normal one to end!
well, what would you have done to keep yourself occupied for 10 hours plus about four hours of travel time???

a picnic in the park...

saturday afternoon, amy and i went to the park by here house and got pupusas and boba. we just sat there for about 4 hours, talking, taking pictures and recording random videos.

we should have our own show! ha!

we found a gopher-like thing and decided to name it Theo, but then a herd of giants with music came and killed our poor dear friend. :(

and he no longer would emerge from his hole

just don't ask...

at least we have fun with life

like i said, we should have our own show... :D

"success is the sum of many small efforts"

i have a bunch to update on, but i am really tired and not in the mood to update about my weekend.
today was...interesting.
school was great and then ever since i got home i just feel irritated. no one did anything and i'm not irritated with my family or anyone. i don't know, maybe i'm just tired.
track and tennis back to back wasn't a good decision, but i did play some AMAZING tennis, which boosted my mood, for a while at least.
i also got lectured by mrs. kors at track because she heard we were laying on the mat on friday. when she asked me if that were true, i told her to truth and said that we only hung out on the mat after we had done our drills. but, she told me to not let it happen again and that if it does she is going to have to get someone out there when our coach isn't there to monitor us. i think that is mostly what threw my day off. i keep thinking about that comment and i feel guilty. i know i'm supposed to be responsible and keep us on task when coach isn't there, but the thing is, i didn't know we were doing anything wrong. i thought that since we had finished our workout it was okay to relax a bit, and since none of the other coaches told us that we were supposed to be doing something. plus it was a friday practice and we hadn't had school that day, so it was bound to be more relaxed, right? oh well, what's done is done; i just wish i didn't feel like i let someone down (and i'm not talking about mrs. kors). i guess failure is all part of the learning process though. it takes time and effort before one can finally succeed.
thanks for letting me vent a bit. i do actually feel a lot better now.

next post will be a happier one, i promise
