well, i'm supposed to be on a plane in a few hours leaving for Costa Rica and out of my house by 5:30, but i had to get the last of these up, so that i won't have to post them when i get back. plus now you all have enough posts to keep you busy for the next week while i'm gone.
on our last day in beautiful NZ we visited the Waitomo caves. it was absolutely incredible! words nor pictures can do this experience justice...you really have to experience for yourself.
this is amy, her friend tim, august and me getting ready to go into a cave.
sorry these are out of order, but this street sign is just so funny and random...i had to show you guys.
august got cut off, but this is in one of the caves...the second one since you couldn't take pictures in the glow worm cave (which was the first one we went in).
random leaves...sorry
and a random sign...i thought it was funny cause it says "toilets" and then is pointing to the bush. there were some up the road, but you can't see them haha

awesome looking stalagtite with water dripping off of it. that is how they are formed and apperantly they only grow like a centi-meter every hundred years...so these are pretty old! amazing what God can do!
when we were in the cave i seriously felt so close to God. it was so clear, so black and white that He is the most solid and powerful thing. more so when we were in the glow worm cave. it was pitch-black...i'm talking you can't even see your finger right in front of your face dark...and absolutely silent except for the river calmly flowing. in the darkness and the silence all i could really think about was how amazing our Lord is. had i been in there alone and without any means of light i almost feel like i wouldn't have been frightened, but peaceful and trusting(then after remembering i wouldn't know how to get out, probably would have freaked out :). it was just so peaceful and breathtaking at the same time you feel like you'd have no room for fear. i honestly don't know how to describe it any better. just go sit in a dark glow worm cave and maybe you'll figure out what i'm talking about. :)
the New Zealand flag
twas an amazing trip! thanks all of you for sitting through all my long posts...it must have gotten dull hearing every detail, but i somtimes post for me to go back and remember things as much as i do for others to read.
well, i'll have more to post about when i get back from Costa Rica!
cheerio!
