day 7

so with this post i thought i should teach you all some kiwi lingo...just for fun.
-lollies: it isn't candy...it's lollies (i personally think it sounds funny to say)
-wop wops: it's an expression for basically "out in the middle of nowhere" (it also sounds pretty funny)
-jandals: flip flops
-tongs: bathing suit
-sparrow fart: up at the crack of dawn (random)
-kiwi: (not to be confused with a kiwi fruit) can be a person or a type of bird. you must say "kiwi fruit" if you are meaning the fruit...haha
-tea: dinner
-pudding: desert
-milo: hot chocolate
-the lift: elevator
-biscuits: cookies
-hot cakes: pancakes
-fizzy: soda
-lemonade: is actually sprite or 7up...they don't have lemonade like we do
-jersey: sweater
well, those are just some...there are probably many more, but those were the ones i found used most often and i didn't know what we were talking about. haha

all we did on thursday was go into town and go shopping and we also got ready to go on a road trip to New Plymouth...cool stuff!

amy also had to get a filling at the dentist, so this is me and august in the waiting room

rainbow! just one of many we saw...this one was cool because (although you can't tell in the picture) you could see the full arch...i don't think i had ever seen one like that before.

they're on the wrong side of the road! haha

sad, but funny...

awesome motto!

i wonder if it really works....but i was not willing to pay $35.00 NZ or American money to find out.

i thought this was a cute building, but next to it are kiwi fruit vines! i didn't really know how kiwi grew before this trip

these are at amy's old school...i thought the arch with the star and the trees was cool

i also thought these wire people were pretty neat, so we had some random teacher guy take this picture

they also have a really cute chapel
august and a hot surfer guy haha!

amy and the hot surfer guy

i would be the most expressive in the pictures haha

this is a huge mound of salt...crazy eh? oh, that's another thing they say quite often: "eh". i though it was cool

when we went swimming the changing station doors only covered what they needed to. from right below the neck (little higher on me haha) to just below the knees...fyi i do have a bathing suit on. i just happen to be short and it's hard to tell.

isn't this an awesome magnet!?! amy bought it and i got one that says "a smile is a curve that puts a lot of thing straight".
g'day! hey another kiwi term...i bet you can figure out what that one means though...hopefully :)
