i can't believe it is already November! how the time is flying! we are finally starting to see some cooler weather and even some rain in the forecast! today at practice was the first time i didn't break out in a sweat from just standing on the court. anywho, i really don't have much to say about my life at the moment, so i think this post will simply consist of a few random topics.
first of all...last time i checked November is still considered fall (or autumn; whichever you prefer). well, looks like my family has had enough of fall and moved straight on to winter. let it be stated here on this blog, in writing that on November 1st our Christmas decorations began going up. luckily my dearest stepfather has spared us all listening to Christmas music...so far. not that i have anything against Christmas music; it is quite jolly, but when you have to listen to it for three months straight the same two or three cd's...it gets old. and people wonder why i am the way i am. i'm telling ya, you wouldn't wonder if you met my family :)
on to my next randomly selected topic of politics. i honestly can say that i will be so excited when the elections are over! i tend to keep quite on most issues when i can, but am willing to discuss my opinions, i guess. today at practice there was a skywriter flying over, spelling out "vote yes on prop 8" and somehow we all got into a major discussion on our views of prop 8. some of the discussion was quite hysterical and some definitely more serious.
speaking of tennis, we have league prelims tomorrow (individuals). we were allowed two doubles teams and two singles players, so our doubles teams will be alicia and brittany and them me and laney. sasha and abeje will be playing in the singles spots. should be interesting...espically since laney and i will be playing the #2's from Campbell Hall. please keep us in your thoughts and prayers...we are going to need it. i'm not so concerned with winning; i just hope i play a really really good match as tennis season is coming to a close and that my nerves don't get to me. i'm sure it will be fine. we'll see what the weather has in store for us as well, since if it rains we will not be playing.
my last random topic has to do with music. last week, i don't remember where i was, but i remember talking about "The Cranberries". one of my friends said something like "who would call themselves The Cranberries?", but if one of your hit songs is entitled "Zombie", the name of the group seems quite normal. if you have never heard of them, you should check them out...i like some of their stuff. they are a 90's rock group from Ireland (a place i greatly desire to travel to someday), so a bit different, but different can be good.
well, i'll try and update tomorrow whether we end up playing or not.
