hot weather and some good tennis

i have so much to update about, but have had so little time. i'll try and keep it short, but i have a feeling that it's going to be a long post, so stay with me.
tuesday, i don't remember anything special happening. i think it was a good day, but i don't really remember...sad huh? :)
wednesday we had a match against Campbell Hall, which is up in the Brentwood/N. Hollywood area again. the ride up wasn't too bad...brutally hot though. it had to be up in the 90's! hannah and i managed to amuse ourselves by waving at people on the freeway out of the bus windows. one little asian truck driver blew a kiss at me. funny. Campbell Hall was seriously, i think, the best team i have ever played. their number 1 doubles were INTENSE! i was NOT upset when we lost to them 0-6...there was just nothing we could do. the second set we also lost 0-6. we were playing really really well though, so i was still happy. i also had to be completely awkward and start a conversation with them. coach wanted to know if most of them had private coaches like Brentwood did. so, basically, they aren't talking to us AT ALL and on change over i simply ask "have you played Brentwood?"
the girl looks at me like i just asked her what brand of pudding she preferred or something random like that and replies "yeah, we tied with them 9-9 but pulled through and won in games"
"oh, thats good. so, i know a lot of them have private coaches, do most of you?
"yeah we all do" and then they walked away and that was what our conversation consisted of. haha...i find it amusing. our third set laney and i won 6-3, so that boosted our moral a bit. i kept cracking up every time i looked over at ms. admiraal; she had propped our bags up against the fence and was laying down on the court watching our match and would clap or give a thumbs up every so often...it was hilarious.
after we were done playing, i was instructed to go and tell the bus driver that he could pull up closer. so, i'm walking across this big empty parking lot with hannah and sasha behind me. the bus driver sees us coming, starts up the bus and then drives diagonally, towards me with grin on his face and bouncing up and down behind the steering wheel. i stood there a moment and then decided it would be best not to have a collision with the oncoming bus and decided to move. how great would that have been: "why is your leg broken?" the bus driver pulled the bus around and hit me" haha! when i go up to the window he goes "oh you of little faith" i love our bus driver...he makes my day! on the way back we stopped at In n' Out...delicious! i think the people thought we were all out of our minds, but then agian we are.
today was a good day. it started out by a trip to the grocery store, where i got into a nice conversation with a lady, who said that her kids had gone to valley. she was asking me about what i'm involved in and what colleges i'm looking at. it was quite pleasant.
in psychology, i did the most random thing i have ever done in front of a class. mr. bras asks who (out of the girls) were wearing shorts. brittany and i were and so we were sent out into the hall, while he told the rest of the class what was to be done. he then comes back out and tells me to come back in the room. i walk in and on the floor there is a wooden board and four guys standing around it and alicia is standing in front of the board. mr bras told me stand on the board, close my eyes and then hold onto alicia's shoulders for balance while the guys were to lift me up. so, as i'm being lifted blindly, alicia is bending down slowly, supposedly creating the allusion that i was much higher than i actually was. it totally worked; i though i was going to hit my head on the projector and mr. bras starts saying things like "oh, guys not that high" and then i freaked out a little and sort or opened my eyes to find that i was only about 2 ft. off the ground. i told alicia that if i were to have fallen, i would have jumped on her back...then she probably would have gone face-first into the table in front of her...funny mental picture.
later that day, i had a grad check with mrs. garcia. those are always an adventure. all i really remember is her telling me that i'm going to be in debt until i'm 45 if i want to go to a small private christian college and then become a teacher. and the to finish things up, as i'm starting to leave this is what she says: "well, i wish you the best of luck with your senior year and college decisions and i pray that you will always stick to your christian principles in college and not do anything that you will regret later. i also will pray that you meet a good christian man and have a wonderful marriage."
uh, i'm 17 here lady! i seriously debated saying "oh i don't ever want to get married", but then decided to save myself from another 10 min lecture. how random!
i went back to study hall, quite puzzled and then just grabbed my stuff and went to ms. admiraal's room with alicia, where we got keys and snacks and then went to set some stuff up for our match. we played Archer today and put on quite a nice showing. we won overall 10-8, i believe and laney and i won our sets 6-4, 6-3, and 6-0. bagel!!! wooohoo!
i have some pictures from today's match and from a few other matches, but i'll post those later.
as for now, this post has been long enough and i've still got some reading to finish up for english, so, TTFN (ta ta for now) :)
thanks for reading!
