do you ever wonder....

-what makes people do the things they do?

-how different words were created and why?

-how to make a rubber band ball? (its hard i've tried)

-why green is called green or red is called red?

-what would happen if you put a person in a room for their whole life with no influence from the outside world, would they think our society is strange?

-what the world would be like if everyone could love each other?

-why pineapples are called pineapples? (there is nothing "piney" or "apple-like" about them)

-who in the heck came up with things like the quadratic formula? (and why)

-why indifferent means unbiased? (to me it looks like it should mean something like "in a difference" or the state of being different)

don't ask...i have no explanation for all these strange questions except that it has been a very long day. good, but long.

one more: why am i so strange sometimes? i even puzzle myself with that one. maybe you should take that as a rhetorical question. ha ha i'm kidding (sorta) :)

adios friends! :)

because august gave me the permission to.... (get ready for a super long comment)

what makes people do the things they do? they do certain things depending on the way they were brought up and on their personality and morals.

how different words were created and why? i'm of the opinion that God created all language... (which is why he could communicate with adam and eve and all the people began to speak in different languages at the tower of babel) so God must have created words... and they were created so that we could communicate and understand each other. the world would be a chaotic place if no one could communicate

how to make a rubber band ball? take a handful of rubber bands and rubber band them together with other rubber bands (so you have a clump) and use rubber bands about the size of the clump to make it more spherical in shape. keep using more and more rubber bands (they will get increasingly bigger in size) until it is the size you want

why is green called green and red called red? the color green has always been associated with the word grow... and both words come from the same germanic root word. Red is another type of word that was named by association to other things that are that color (rust, ruby, russet, etc.)

what would happen if you put a person in a room for their whole life with no influence from the outside world, would they think our society is strange? yes, but they would think any society was strange, no matter what it was like. the person would not be used to being around people, so even the fact that there are people would be strange

what would the world be like if everyone could love each other? we'd be in heaven. it would be perfect.

why are pineapples called pineapples? when they were first discovered, they were thought to be large PINE cones. apple is a generic fruit. the "pine cones" were discovered to be fruit (edible) so they were named pineapples (a fruit that resembles a cone)

who came up with the quadratic formula? it was "thought up" or first discovered by the ancient Babylonians. it is another way of applying the method of completing the square on a polynomial with more complex (irrational numbers)

why does indifferent mean unbiased? they don't mean the same thing. indifferent means that you don't really care (apathy) about something. unbiased means that you don't really have an opinion about something beforehand and you are impartial. both kind of mean the same thing, but indifferent also involves apathy.

why are you so strange sometimes? sometimes? i beg to differ. the question should read "why are you so strange ALL THE TIME?" =P. you are strange, because normality is truly relative. There are more weird/strange people that "normal" people in this world... so if you are truly weird, you are truly normal... but if you are truly normal, you are truly weird. that just goes to say that you. anyways, in reality, you really aren't strange, because that's normal for you... and i don't mean that in a bad way. you are normal for you. maybe you are strange to others, but what is really the standard for strangeness?

I think society is strange, and I haven't been locked up in a room for my entire life.

Maybe I should have been, though.
