so, since i got back from utah, whats been happening in my life, you ask? well, i'll try and give you a simple break down. by the way, my title really has nothing to do with this post...i just couldn't think of one.
first item of business-lesson i should know by now: NEVER assume
i walk into first period last monday to find mrs. flietstra telling allison and lauren about something that happened on their trip over the weekend. you see, ms. mhyren is dating mrs. flietstra's son, so she went with them. mrs. flietstra says to me "oh, i have some news about ms. mhyren when we were up in (wherever they were) last weekend." thinking i know what she was talking about (this is the assuming part) and that they got engaged, i go "oh, i bet i can guess" this earned me three odd glances, making me feel quite out of place and wishing that i had simply not spoken. mrs. flietstra looks and me and goes "you could guess that she has appendicitis"
oh...no, that would not be what i was going to say. quite embarrassing, but funny at the same time.
moving on to our second point of this post, i have for you all the tale of playing pick up off of a freeway off ramp. i'm at track on wednesday, enjoying life, relaxing. then i get to the locker room where i discover a message on my phone from justin asking if i will be picking him up. you see, i thought he was already at our house, but alas, no he was driving back from the airport with his tennis team and wanted me to go get him from whittier. they were passing school so i really wished he could have just been dropped off, but oh well. his bright idea was to just get out of the tennis bus and wait at the exit ramp till i drove by and could pick him up. smart boy. he tells me to get off at whittier and then as i'm passing washington st. he calls and frantically starts yelling at me "i'm at washington st.! get off at ashington!" after some swerving and skilled aggressive driving i made it and found justin waiting on the curb with three huge bags that he held up the exiting freeway people with as he tried to stuff them into my car. oh, never a dull moment.
next on our list: the saturday track meet at which i got fried! i'm now as red as a tomato and it burns...horribly. i tell you, i will get skin cancer and die...fabulous! well, anyways, for a more up beat (or perhaps not) subject: high jump. i've been quite frustrated with my recent jumping performances and finally on saturday everything seemed to be clicking. i cleared 4'8" no problem with at least a plus two and then somehow missed 4'10", which for some reason sent me into tears of frustration and disappointment. sometimes i hate crying. like saturday for instance...i was not happy to be crying. sometimes i am happy to cry even if they aren't tears of joy. it's more like i feel that at least i can show emotion or be passionate about something. satuday just felt like tears of disappointment in myself though. does that make any sense? well, i'm over it now. nothing i can do except move on and try harder next time.
other than high jump the rest of the day, i spent in the blistering sun waiting for allison to run her race (yeah i'm a good friend...i could have left haha). the meet was running so behind and then when allison went to go warm up i went to my car to put my bag in ther as well as retrieve my phone. you don't know how tempting it was to just get in that car and drive away. but, i walked back and to my surprise, met allison half way. she told me that she actually wasn't even entered in the 2 mile...great! so we all waited for nothing. no matter, we had some fun laughs about bogenvia, creepy pictures and irish songs. good stuff. then as we were getting ready to leave, out of nowhere comes julie. crazy! we got to hang out for a bit, so that was fun too.
sunday was filled with laney and random conversations about criticisms when she meant to say catacombs. don't ask. we went to lunch and then somehow ended up at the beach and then my house to play wii while my family was at disneyland. it was good to hang out with her...it had been a while. :)
in other news, my family is now obsessed with the wii. we play like every night. and when we have four of us in a small room playing wii tennis, things can get intense! pretty hilarious!
also, i have officially committed to Westmont! yay! what an immense relief! allison and i are requesting to room with each other, so we'll have our fingers crossed that everything works out.
as of now, i am only suffering from fatigue, severe sunburn and a bad case of senioritis that i hope will pass as soon as i am allowed a break of spring (spring break :)
well, i'll be back again soon. i promise i will not neglect the blog any longer! :D
and remember: wink at someone driving past today. (that was on one of my little dove chocolate wrappers, so i thought i'd pass it along)

Uhhhh, I wouldn't recommend winking at someone driving past... at least not in LA...
*cough*drive-by-shooting*cough*
oh yea... sorry about saturday's waste. (meaning the meet. Not like, poop and whatnot. Actually, sorry about that waste too.)
Hahaha Criticisms??? How exactly does one mistake a Catacomb for a criticism????? :D
