sorry for the lacking updates. life is busy, busy, busy, but when isn't it, i guess. the week really did fly by. wednesday i went to the Long Beach Rescue Mission, which was great! their response to the video went really well, so we were all very thankful for that, since the video had some parts we weren't sure they would agree with. to let you know what it was about, it was basically about this guy that seems like a pretty good guy (nice family man and such) and he gets into a car crash and ends up on a train called "the limited", where he is going to see the judge. the lady sitting next to him on the train is kind of the type of person that i think other people tend to ignore, simply because of the way they appear. anyway, she begins talking to him about her life and such, but he couldn't care less and is just concerned for his own well being. she also hints at certain things, by saying she is cold and hungry, as he has both a jacket and some food with him. when the train stops he runs off the train and follows the signs to the judge without so much as a backwards glance at the lady. when he gets to the place where the judge is supposed to be, he looks up and the lady from the train is standing there and it ends.
it was pretty deep and definitely brought up some interesting points.
yesterday, i drove up to whittier to watch justin's tennis match. i think it's so fun to watch him play...it's amazing how hard they can smack that ball! inspiring! haha. after he was done with his match, i had to wait for him to take a shower, so i hung out in his dorm room and then we left for my house. we ended up getting home around 8:15 and still hadn't had dinner yet, so we decided to cook again. we were going to make chicken enchiladas, but then discovered that we only had 3 tortillas, so we made it into a casserole. we also improvised (what we do best) on almost half of the ingredients, like we didn't have enough sour cream, so we threw in some cream cheese and yogurt. and we used a jar of salsa instead of green chilies. our casserole turned out AMAZING! i think it was even better than our beef and broccoli.
other than that, nothing much has been happening...just track and school. i would like to vent about a certain yearbook teacher, but won't subject you all to that. lets just say allison and i had to come in this morning on our saturday to get some things done and you can imagine how happy that alone would make us with her.
well, better start an english paper, so then justin and i can go have a painting party...yeah we paint and cook for fun. :)
later alligators!
