well yesterday i stayed home sick. i didn't feel well when i came home from school on monday, so i slept. i had a field trip on tuesday, so i wanted to go to school and was completely ready and everything, but then decided it would probably benefit me more to stay home and sleep, which is what i did all day! amazing! i did go to school today though and was feeling much, much better. and with only three classes (two of which i watched movies in) i was even feeling well enough to play some tennis. :) i haven't been able to play i a good three weeks; it was SUPER windy and i got my butt kicked, but after i get my game back i'll be ready to beat scott...hopefully.
the track 'banquet' was also held tonight. i wasn't looking forward to going, but am really glad i did. i know i complain all the time about going to track practice and about how i don't like track, but honestly deep down i like it. i mean i love the people and the fun times we get to have, but apart from that i also like high jumping though i may not always show it like i do my passion for tennis. high jump is such a unique thing, which i consider to be more of a mental game than a sport...honestly it is much more mental work than physical. in addition i think it can present a great analogy to life. i mean, you have a set goal or standard to make or achieve and in order to clear or accomplish that goal you must fully make it over that bar. just like a high jump bar, goals in our lives can't be made/achieved half way. with only "half way" the bar falls down, but when we rely on God and put our full trust that he will catch us on the other side (analogy to the mat!) of that bar we will fully accomplish what we set out to those few steps ago. this may not make any sense to anyone else, but i can fully comprehend it for some reason. anyway's what i really wanted to say before i got completely sidetracked, is thank you everyone for an amazing season! i couldn't have made it though without any of you! and a special thanks to coach jim (if you read this) for always being patient and encouraging with so much passion for high jump. you truly are a blessing to me! :)
well, that is all i have to say on the matter of track...until next year that is.
hope your week is finding you well!
